We do not include in our fee proposals provision of any hard copy prints. It is normal to issue PDF copies of all drawings and infirmation to Clients, Consultants, Contractors etc by electronic means.
We can print hard copy drawings and reports. These are usually requested where hard copy contract documents are required - in this case two are normally required for signature; although some legal teams do accept CD copies of contrract documents.
At start on site some Contractors and Builders who do not have their own printing facilities will request copies of documents to price or to begin construction with on site. These woudl normally be A1 and A0 copies of drawings, but some request A3 copies.
Clients may also request a set of drawings for their own use.
All prints are chargeable as expenses:-

We can issue copies of reports and specifications in bound form. All reports will be printed and bound by Copy CAD and charged at cost.
Why do we charge: There can be significant costs with printing of documents, cost of paper, cost of ink, time to fold prints, colour printing in particular used a much larger wuantity of ink. These are all on costs to graphic work which are not embedded in our fee costs as prints are not required very often these days
bpArchitecture barely break even on residential projects, and make small profits on commercial projects. We aim to keep our overheads low so that project costs are low.
This is why we charge printing as expenses.
