RIBA Stage 2: Scheme Design
Larger Projects:
The following items would be undertaken during stage 2 of the project.
It is important to undestand that in architecture, each project and each site is unique, so taks carried out at all stages of a project might not be the same for everyproject.
- Develop the concept design
- Liaise with Other consultants to agree items to be included in the scheme design
- Review construction method
- Review or develop design and construction programme
- Undertake third party consultation
- Prepare Design responsibilities matrix
- Produce Outline Specification
- Agree Change control process
- Liaise with QS producing budget cost plan
- Collate and agree changes to the project brief
- Identify health and safety risks
- Establish a risk and opportunities register - where req
- Produce scheme design plans and concept elevations
- Chair design meetings
- Liaise with the Planning Authrity for pre-application advice
- Where an Outline application is the route selected - Make an Outline Planning applciation
Smaller Projects
For small and medium projects the list of tasks carried out would be reduced
As this type of project would be on a smaller site, with a much smaller accomodation requirements, a concept design may not always be required.
